CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

Moms of Hue will officially be launching December 1, 2009 but we decided to have a pre-launch giveaway.

Four (4) Winners receive the following in paperback:

  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Book
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Book
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Book

I am a long time fan of Harry Potter. I remember when I returned home from South Africa and borrowed Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone from my cousin because I really wanted a book to read. I did not think that I’d like the series but I was quickly engaged with the “magic” and read through the books voraciously. I shared my joy with my young cousin and purchased the books for her as they were released. We were able to spend quality time together discussing the books and I loved knowing that I was encouraging her to read books without lecturing.

We’d love to share the gift of reading with the young (or old) in your family by giving away four sets of the first three books in the Harry Potter series.

To enter you MUST to do two things

1. Find your favorite post on Moms of Hue that is not on the front page  AND

2. Tweet this: @MomsofHue is giving away 4 sets of the 1st three Harry Potty books http://ow.ly/E4XS pls r/t

Leave the title of title of your favorite post and the link to your tweet in your comment (click the time at the bottom of your tweet and copy the url) to be entered into the giveaway.

This contest is open until 12:00 PM E.S.T on November 24th.  Winners will be contacted by email.

Share the Magic of Reading with Harry Potter! It’s been 10 years since Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone was first published and a whole new generation of children await the magic of Hogwarts, and Quidditch, of Sorting Hats and Spells. Introduce your “back-to-schooler” to the first three books in this remarkable series and get them started on the reading adventure of a lifetime.

“I am Really Not my Hair” was a good post that I liked, not her misfortune’s, I liked that she did something that made her daughter happy and yet, she came and wrote about her story looking for advice. As a mother, I understand how tough it is when your children want to be like someone else when you want them to know they are “ok, just the way they are”.

My children are all multi racial and the “I am Really Not My Hair” post was so relatable to me and my daughters.

I also read your post re Chris Brown/Rhianna and was impressed by your insight; I too, have been an abused woman.

I have also Tweeted and am following you on Twitter (greeeneyedwhwom)

What’s in a name?
This one was one of my favorites. I was rather surprised that you were asked to change your name on your resume. With all the unusual names that are out there today, I wouldn’t have thought people were judging you on your name. Crazy!

My favorite post is Is Multitasking a Bad Word? In fact it caught my eye because it was a subject of discussion at work a couple of days ago. Fortunately my job does not require very much multitasking but one of my co-workers is constantly interrupted by phone calls, IMs, and subordinates with questions. How he ever gets anything finished is amazing.
