Extended to November 6

Contest is Now Closed. Thank you for your entries.

We previously shared with you information about the Macy’s Path to Peace Project.  It is a wonderful project promoting self-reliance while helping woman of Rwanda regain control of and rebuild their lives. And now you have the opportunity to win your very own “O” Bracelet.

The O Bracelet was just featured in O Magazine and The Blogrollers were recently wearing (and gave away) these lovely bracelets at the Type A Mom Conference. Each bracelet in this series is hand-made by two women–a weaver in Rwanda and a jewelry artist in New Orleans. Besides being a beautiful accessory, the message is all about partnership and the possibilities which occur when we work together. Read the O Magazine article about Path to Peace Movement.

Starting today, October 25, 2009 and continuing until midnight on October 29 November 6, 2009 Moms of Hue will be accepting entries into our “Passion for Path to Peace” contest. One lucky winner will be selected to win his/her very own Path to Peace bracelet.

As the mother of a toddler girl, it’s important to me that she be allowed to have her own voice. I try hard to make sure not to tell her what she can’t do (within reason — obviously turning my stove on is a no-no), but rather encourage her to explore her world and speak up, even when it drives me up the wall. I rejoice and celebrate with her when she tries new things. In turn, as I watch her fearlessly explore her world and speak up, it gives me strength and encouragement to do the same.
